Pricing

Every stump is different. So is its price.

We don't publish a stump-by-the-inch calculator because it would lie to you. Instead we come out for free, look at the actual stump, and write you an honest number.

What Drives the Price

Twelve real variables.

Any pricing calculator that asks "diameter?" and gives you a number is guessing. Here's what we actually look at when we quote a stump.

Diameter

Measured at ground level, root flare included. Bigger stumps take more time.

Species

Live oak and mesquite grind slower than cedar or hackberry — teeth wear differs too.

Age of Stump

Fresh, older, or long-dead — each changes how the wood cuts.

Root Flare

A wide, flared base is essentially a larger stump. It matters.

Surface Roots

Grinding radiating surface roots is optional but priced separately.

Accessibility

Gate width, driveway slope, distance from where we can stage.

Slope

Hill Country grade is real — steeper sites are slower and require different setup.

Rock

Limestone in the root zone changes tooth wear and grind time.

Number of Stumps

The more stumps in one visit, the better the per-stump price.

Cleanup Requested

Chips are raked into a neat mound over the hole — cleanup included.

Fence Gates & Fences

Panel removal or unusually tight gates add setup time.

Utilities

Marked utilities are safe; unmarked ones need locating first.
